And these laundry rooms are usually electronically locked, and you need to make an appointment online in advance. For example, if you make an appointment for a time period – from 1 to 3 o’clock, it is usually two hours or one and a half hours. This time is the time you have exclusive use of the laundry room.
The facilities in the laundry room are quite complete. The washing machines are basically large-capacity industrial-grade machines with good quality and basically never break down. And here comes the point! At least in the several dormitories I have lived in, you don’t need to bring your own laundry detergent to the laundry room! You only need to bring dirty clothes, and don’t worry about anything else, because the washing machine will automatically add laundry detergent, which is really super convenient.
Sweden’s “God-level home appliance”-dryer
There is also a magic tool for washing clothes in Sweden-dryer! This thing is not very common in China, but in Sweden, like ovens and toasters, it is almost standard in every family. I didn’t think the dryer was so special until I used it-it’s really easy to use!
After you wash your clothes, throw them directly into the dryer. It can dry and heat the clothes. You can wear them right away, or put them in the closet directly without drying them! In this way, within two hours, not only can your clothes be washed, but they can also be put away immediately, which is very efficient! So I have decided that when I return to China, I must ask my mother to buy me a dryer!
Laundry room fees
Finally, let’s talk about the fees that everyone is most concerned about. In Swedish dormitories, you don’t need to spend extra money to wash your clothes! All the fees are actually included in the accommodation fee, so as long as you make an appointment, you can wash your clothes and use the dryer for free, which is really great.
