Traveling in Sweden: There are no bustling attractions here, but there is the most healing summer
Hello everyone, I am here to write an article again! Today we will talk about traveling in Sweden. This topic is quite interesting because everyone has a different definition of travel.
Before coming to Sweden, my understanding of travel was very simple: visiting attractions + eating delicious food. For example, when I was studying in Chengdu before, the way to travel around was to check in at places like Jiuzhaigou, Wuhou Temple, Du Fu Thatched Cottage, and Chunxi Road, and eat all kinds of delicious food by the way. But after arriving in Sweden, I found that the way of traveling here is completely different, and it can even be said to be completely the opposite.
If you want to see big attractions, Sweden will disappoint you
The travel experience in Sweden is very different from that in other European countries, mainly reflected in the sense of scale of the attractions.
If you are used to the magnificent attractions in Central and Western Europe, such as:
People who have visited Milan Cathedral or Cologne Cathedral may think “Isn’t this just an ordinary house?” when they go to a small church in Sweden.
After seeing the Louvre and the magnificent Vienna, you may wonder “Is this really where the king lives?” when you look at the Swedish royal palace.
After experiencing the cultural atmosphere of Paris and Rome, which are full of historical relics, you may feel that Sweden has very few historical attractions.
Indeed, Sweden does not have those amazing buildings. Its attractions are often just some small museums, churches or old buildings, which are completely incomparable to the luxurious attractions on the European continent. If you come to Sweden with the mentality of “visiting big attractions”, you may be disappointed.
If you want to eat delicious food, Sweden will disappoint you even more.
Swedish food… It can be said that there is no delicious food 😂.
The most famous “national food” here is:
Potatoes
Meatballs
Venison
That’s it? That’s it! If you are a foodie and want to come to Sweden to taste various specialties, then I advise you not to have too high expectations. Compared with the exquisite variety of Chinese food and the exquisiteness of French food, the Swedish diet can be said to be quite primitive, basically a combination of meat and potatoes, and the cooking method is also very simple.
So whether it is attractions or food, Sweden is very different from traditional travel.
But even so, I still like traveling in Sweden very much. It can even be said that the Swedish way of traveling has changed my understanding of “travel”.
Sweden’s way of traveling: blending with nature and truly relaxing
There is more than one way to travel.
Some trips are to check in in big cities, see attractions, and eat delicious food;
And some trips are to truly integrate into nature and heal the body and mind.
Sweden, obviously belongs to the latter.

The trip here is not a “visit”, but a complete relaxation. Especially the summer in Sweden, I really think it is the most comfortable summer of all the places I have been to.
The sun here will not set until 10 or 11 o’clock in the evening. You can take a leisurely walk and boat in the soft dusk, and time seems to become infinitely long.
It is sunny here at 7 or 8 in the morning, but the temperature is always refreshing and pleasant, without heat, only the comfort of a breeze.
There are soft sandy beaches and quiet bays here, unlike the lively beaches in southern Europe, which are full of people. You can sit on the shore alone, listen to the waves, bask in the sun, and feel an indescribable tranquility.
There are continuous forests and vast lakes here. The lake water in summer is clear and reflects the sky and tree shadows. When you walk in, it seems that the whole world has become quiet.
The air here is so fresh that it is addictive. Go to any lake or mountain, it is full of negative oxygen ions. Take a deep breath and the whole person will feel relaxed.
Traveling in Sweden is not about checking in and out, but about slowing down completely, lying on the grass in a daze, watching the sparkling lake, or doing nothing but quietly enjoying this world. This experience is really hard to describe in words, but if you have experienced it once, you will understand the feeling of being healed both physically and mentally.

Summer in Sweden is the most healing trip
If you want to travel to Sweden, don’t think about visiting big attractions or eating delicious food, but come here to experience the “Nordic style of lying down”.
Here, you don’t need to rush your schedule, queue up to check in, or walk a lot – you just need to choose a cabin by the lake, or a quiet forest, and then empty yourself and enjoy the purest nature.

Traveling in Sweden is not about visual shock, but about inner immersion.
There are no magnificent palaces here, but there are the most gentle lakes;
There are no bustling food streets here, but there is the freshest air;
There are no world-class famous attractions here, but there is the most comfortable sunshine, the longest summer, and the quietest night.

If you are tired of the fast-paced way of traveling and want to find a place to truly relax, heal and slow down, then Sweden is really the best place for you.
